Corsham is safe and relatively free of crime and anti-social behaviour. We can only maintain this situation with the help of both residents and visitors.
Police
Corsham has its own police station, in Priory Street, staffed by officers and community support officers who regularly patrol the town and nearby villages. The Enquiry Office at the Police Station is staffed by volunteers, and is open three days a week - Monday, Wednesday and Friday - from 10am-2pm. Visitors can make appointments to talk to the Neighbourhood Policing Team; hand in or collect lost property; pass on information and collect leaflets and forms that are available.
If for any reason you need to contact police officers outside of these times you can do so via the yellow phone on the wall of the station. This will connect you free of charge with the regional control centre. A further direct line is situated in the library in Pickwick Road. The library can also answer many of the most frequently asked questions of the police which do not require an officer and can take small items of lost property when the Enquiry Office is closed. Messages or information for the police can also be left in the police post box at the Town Hall.
Alternatively you can contact the control centre via their non emergency number 101. Wiltshire police’s website can be accessed on www.wiltshire.police.uk In case of an emergency dial 999.
CCTV
Corsham Town Council has invested in a mobile CCTV camera. This can be moved to a number of fixed points around the Town if any trouble has been reported. It has been a useful tool in preventing and detecting crime around Corsham. Currently the points are Springfield, the Town Hall, Katherine Park and Pickwick Road. It is hoped to increase the number of points in the future.
