Community Awards

The Town Council’s Community Awards were launched in 2011 to celebrate those who make a difference to the Corsham community. Over the years, clubs, groups, hard-working volunteers, young people and local sports stars have all been recognised.

The search for award recipients runs from January to March when nomination forms for that year’s competition are available. The Awards Panel then considers the nominees, made up of four Town Councillors, who choose the winners. The certificates are handed out at a special Corsham Celebrates event (previously the Annual Town Meeting) in April.

Nominations for 2027’s Awards will open in January.

2026 Community Awards

The winners of 2026’s Awards are: Holly Silver, our youngest-ever winner, for her weekly litter-picks around the town; Graham New for consistently stepping forward to support and strengthen local organisations; Nigel Millward for his voluntary leadership and contribution to St Bartholomew’s Church for over 40 years, and Jon and Angela Brennan for setting up the Park Lane Community Garden.

Two Chair’s Awards were presented. One went to Karen Viner for running the fortnightly luncheon club, Corsham Community Club, that supported the older/vulnerable people in our community The second Chair’s Award went to Elaine Dent and the Peacock WI’s Poppy Committee for the amazing Poppy Project that took over the town last year.
