At our special Corsham Celebrates event on 23 April, this year’s winners of the Town Council’s Community Awards were presented with their certificates. The winners were: Holly Silver, our youngest ever winner, for her weekly litter-picks around the town to raise money for the conservation of pangolins; Graham New for consistently stepping forward to support and strengthen local organisations, such as Neston Memorial Hall and Corsham Rugby Club; Nigel Millward for his 40+ years of contribution to St Bartholomew’s Church, and Jon and Angela Brennan for setting up the Park Lane Community Garden.

Two Chair’s Awards were also presented. The first went to Karen Viner, for running the fortnightly luncheon club, Corsham Community Club, for the older and more vulnerable members of our community. The second was presented to Elaine Dent and members of Peacock WI’s Poppy Committee for their amazing Poppy Project which took over Corsham last year, marking Remembrance, and culminating in a royal visit from HM Queen Camilla.

Congratulations to them all.
