Harry was born on 10th July 1909 in Lewisham, London – details of his parents are not known. He was admitted to the Lewisham District Workhouse at the age of 5 with no other family members.
He married Ruby May Collis in Lewisham in 1935 and in 1939 was still living in the area employed as a Wool Brusher.
Harry died of a heart attack in Braintree, Essex on 26th September 1941, and was subsequently buried in Corsham.
This burial ground is the resting place for 22 servicemen who gave their lives on the First & Second World Wars. A number were men who had lived in the town or had family connections to the area.
